Super séjour chez Totem ! Le lieu est magnifique, super bien décoré et agencé, les chambres sont canons, lits confortables et le shalah à l’étage est la pépite pour celles et ceux qui ont une pratique régulière. L’équipe était aux petits soins et super gentille. Localisation parfaite à proximité de l’océan et pas loin de plein de spots sympa (à condition d’avoir un scooter), plus calme et à l’écart de l’euphorie et du trafic de Pecatu. Firstly, this property should be listed as Balangan, not Uluwatu. This is misleading for travellers unfamiliar with the area. It is nowhere near Uluwatu's main attractions, and even Grab drivers frequently refuse rides to or from theproperty, or demand extra payment. Claims that it is "centrally located" are simply inaccurate.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was poor. The staff were unfriendly and made no effort to explain the room, facilities,or who to contact if we needed assistance. The place has a really negative energy about it and we immediately felt unwelcome. On our first day, we raised concerns about how isolated the property was, particularly as we were recovering from Bali belly and wanted to be closer to essential services in case of an emergency. The owner dismissed our concerns entirely.
Things became far worse the first evening when we returned to discover we had been given the wrong key for the property's main entrance. We were locked out in the dark with no way to get inside. As two young women, this was an incredibly frightening situation. Repeated attempts to contact the property went unanswered. Grab drivers refused to come to the location, and the nearest convenience store required walking along an unlit road where we encountered aggressive dogs. With nowhere else to go, we even attempted to contact emergency services for advice, but received no response. In desperation, we tried climbing the property's high wall before my friend eventually managed to force the main door open without damaging it. Had she not succeeded, we would have been left sleeping outside or accepting the offer of a man to sleep on his floor, neither of which felt remotely safe.

The following morning, we requested a refund because we no longer felt safe staying there. The owner, Elen, refused, offering only a 50% refund for the first night despite her staff admitting they had given us the wrong key and despite us providing video evidence that we were locked out. Rather than accepting responsibility, she mocked us for contacting emergency services, blamed us for going out, and made us feel like we were the ones who did something wrong as she began filming us, after my friend specifically asked her not to because she felt exposed in her pyjamas.

To make matters worse, when we asked for her name, she initially gave us a false one and refused to let us use a phone to contact local services while we were trying to arrange alternative accommodation.

I am an experienced solo female traveller, and I have never felt as unsafe or as poorly treated as I did here. Being locked out overnight due to the property's mistake was unacceptable.The complete lack of accountability, empathy, and professionalism afterwards made the experience even worse.

Het was erg mooi en rustig, personeel was mega leuk en lief! het ontbijt raad ik zeker aan die is namelijk echt mega lekker en perfecte porties! We had a wonderful stay! The entire property is brand new, beautifully designed, and incredibly cozy.
The rooms are simply amazing, with tasteful décor, impeccable cleanliness, very comfortable beds, high-quality linens, and a fantastic shower.
